I love the giant pen tool icon for illustrator and the cropping for photoshop. I think that its very different from the other design from the past or present. Very creative.
The pen tool and the cropped images are great ideas.
For Illustrator's package, try toning down the outline of the pen tool and sizing up the orange squiggle. Also bring up the type size of the software.
For the Photoshop package, the cropped image idea is working because it relates to Photoshop well.
Although these are coming along quite nice, my biggest concern is how will they look together as a package/whole. Because one is distinctively illustrated and the other is an actual image, they almost seem like separate entities. Maybe there is another element that you can add to the Photoshop software to tie it all together. =)
wow. high quality illustration/photo. agree with some above, full bleed vs partial bleed throws off continuity from box to box. you need to decide. i do love #1B. beautiful crop. would like to see you work with that as the foundation.
I like the ones down on the buttom. The design of pen is really attractive in looking and effective related to the software itself. The right one I like that you used the croping tool, I must say that's a really interesting design for me; I like it a lot. Try to use some bright colors to see if it makes the effect even greater.
